The V02MKII: How to tell the time on this unique time keeper.

V02MKII - How it Works

We're the first to admit that the V02MKII takes a little bit of getting used to. But once you've cracked the code, it soon becomes intuitive.

"That's a great looking watch! How does it work?". You better brace yourself because you're about to hear these words frequently once this watch is on your wrist.

Despite the unusual looks of this watch there is no magic or special tricks involved. It's based on a standard, high quality, Japanese quartz movement that will run accurately year after year.

The V02MKII uses three ‘compass needle’ hands, the short hand representing the hours and the long hands the minutes and seconds, as on any other watch. The short and long hands, in either red or white, represent the minutes and the hours; the black hand, with the red or white tip, represents the seconds. Match the colour of the needle shown to the number with the same colour on the dial.

The video above explains this in more detail.

“I get lots of compliments on this watch! Takes a little getting used to the unique face, but, it’s worth it!”  - Anonymous User

This watch is not designed to tell time at a glance but to remind us about the value and passage of time. It’s been the spark of many interesting conversations since its launch in 2009.
